About Kay Seurat

My name is Kay Seurat, and if you call me when I'm not home, Doris Day will sing that for you.

For the last 16 years my primary occupation has been art, in many forms. For the last 7 years I've narrowed it down to jewelry.  Never one to focus, I currently create several different modes.

These range from a traditional style with semi-precious stones set in silver, to a very unique series which I call "Obitrary Art", a mix of cosmic forms and mysterious gadgetry, created with silver, copper and brass.

My work employs a variety of techniques and tools.  My first love is traditional silver smithing with saws, files, torches and buffing machines. A newer medium is metal clay, which is Fine Silver in clay form. When the work is completed, the piece is kiln-fired and emerges as metal.

I love the variety and the continual surprise that result from the process which turns the adventures in my mind into the tangible reality of stone and metal.
